My First Children’s Book – Mia, What’s on your Plate?

2

Hello, hello, hellooo!!!!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!!!!

I feel like today’s blog post is one a lot of you have been waiting for! First off, I want to take this moment to say THANK YOU to everyone that has bought a copy of my first children’s book. It truly means more than you will ever know!!!!

I can honestly say that I didn’t imagine anyone buying my book except myself. The fact that there are over 50 copies out there means more than anything. The only way to spread the word is through word of mouth. Therefore, please feel free to share this amazon link with friends and families. It really is a good book for babies to age four!!!!

Now, let me answer some of the popular questions from the “insta fam.”

1.What made you want to write a children’s book?

With my small business taking a BIG hit due to Covid-19 and being pregnant at the same time, I needed to find an outlet to keep me busy. Back in the days, when Mia was a baby, I would write down her “first times” when she would say a word. I would type it all up and make random stories and save it on my laptop.

It was one of those days, where Mia was taking a nap and I decided why not write a children’s book. I took one of my stories and started changing it up a little by little to make it into a children’s book. From there, I started researching on how to make this happen and the rest is history!

2. How did you find people to work on your book?

After I had my story put together, I started reaching out to other children’s book authors. I would say a handful never replied back to me so I started looking at different social media groups like Facebook groups. Finally, when I was thinking this was not for me a friend on Instagram put me in touch with someone and the ball started rolling from there.

I would say the first thing you want to do is find an editor. This is the person that will edit your story and tell you if any changes need to be made. Once your story is edited, you can start looking for illustrators and publishers. When you google, make sure to read all the reviews out there so you know you are getting the best of the best!!!!

3. Is it expensive to get a book published?

I would say overall it is expensive to get a book put together and published. At the same time, it really is rewarding! I still cannot forget how BIG my smile was the moment I saw my book online on AMAZON. I think I literally sent a link to everyone and anyone because I was sooo excited!!!!

4. Will you write another book?

I would like to say YES but only time will tell! This was a new experience for me and I truly loved every moment of it. At the same time, for now, I’m going to enjoy this book as much as I can. I’m still trying to spread the word about this book so we can get more households with littles ones to have one. Therefore, for now, I’m just happy to go through this experience and read this book to my kids until they find their next favorite book…hehehe 😛

If you haven’t gotten a copy, you can do so from this link

Feel free to share this link with friends and families! I promise this is a book any child will love!!!!

-XOXO-
