OMGGG!!! I still cannot believe we actually went to NYC without Mia for a whole weekend!!! We left early Thursday morning and came back home Sunday evening. The crazy thing was that Mia was literally mad at us when we came back from our trip. She initially looked at us and smiled so big and then she just wouldn’t look at us. It was at that moment I realized, “Wow, this kid really missed us!!!” It did hurt me for a moment but after a few hugs and kisses, everything seemed just fine!!!
Honestly though, if you are someone debating to go or not to go on a trip alone with your significant other, I would say go!!! Believe me it is definitely a good idea to take a break and just to be yourselves without having to feed or change a baby. Just take the trip to relax and unwind!!! Believe me, you will thank me afterwards because you will feel so alive and ready to change all the diapers in the world…I promise you!!!
I’m not going to lie there were plenty of moments when I was like “oh, it’s this time, I wonder if she is doing this right now” and I would literally look at the camera. Yes, we have cameras everywhere in our house so whenever I miss my baby girl, I can just turn one on and see her. You may think I’m crazy and that is totally fine because the hubby definitely thinks I am…lol But guess what, I don’t care!!!
I think another reason I was able to enjoy this trip to the fullest was because it was my mom that was watching Mia. I gave her Mia’s schedule and she would follow that schedule so basically my mom had no issues with her.
Man, I wish I took a picture of the inside of the fridge because I labeled all of Mia’s food for each day so that there was no confusion for my mom. Also, it was one less thing my mom did not need to worry about. There were two days where my mom had to go out for work so she called one of our friends to stay home. She was awesome too because she was sending me pictures and those pictures just melted my heart.
Mia is truly blessed to have sooo many people that love her!!! At the same time, we are blessed to be surrounded by so many loved ones that are ready to take care of her any time so that we can have some husband wife time!!!
After we came back and put Mia to bed, that night, we decided we would go on one trip every year with no kid(s). I’m sooo happy he convinced me to go on this trip because it definitely was great to sleep in and not wake up at 7am…lol :p
Honestly though, if you are like me, we can find so many reasons not to leave our child but believe me, YOUR CHILD WILL BE FINE!!! As long as you leave your child with someone you trust hundred percent, you have nothing to worry about! Also, make sure to leave any specific instructions if need be so that there are no surprises while you are gone.
