Road Trip to Waco, TX!

0

Howdy y’all!

Hope you all are having a great day! Today, I’m talking about our trip to Waco, TX. I know so many people that do day trips to Waco, TX, but that is just too much driving for me.

I went to Waco with three of my girlfriends. We decided to leave on a Saturday morning and come back on Sunday. None of us have been there before so it was our first time going. One of my friends is a fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines so she has been really wanting to visit Waco for a while now. All of our schedules matched on a random Saturday so we decided why not!

My number one recommendation if you plan to stay there is go on a Friday and come back on Saturday. This is because a lot of the stores and restaurants are closed on Sundays. Our plan was to eat at the Magnolia Restaurant on Sunday and then, head back home. Unfortunately, this restaurant, which is a “must eat” restaurant, is closed on Sundays. I guess you can say none of us did any research until we got there…ooopps!!! On the bright side, it gives us another reason to go back…muwahahaha!!! Now, lets talk about what we did!!!

BRAZOS TOURS

If you are planning to do any tours but don’t know which one, I would recommend doing the Brazos Tours. Our tour guide was awesome and shared so much history about Waco, TX! If you are a fan of fixer uppers, you should definitely do this one! We got to see some of the fixer uppers that Chip and Joanna did during their different seasons on HGTV. We didn’t actually get to go inside any of the houses because most of them were rented out. I guess that was a bummer though! I think it would have been great to see what these houses actually look like in person, especially, if you’re their fans. It definitely would have been a treat fooo sure!

MAGNOLIA MARKET AT THE SILOS

You know we had to go to the Magnolia Market at the Silos, when you travel with a Chip and Joanna Gaines fan…hehehe. The market sells so many different things from furniture, home décor, jewelry, and even fixer upper merchandises. If you feel like you shopped till you dropped, then, you can stop by the bakery to grab some goodies. I actually got a chocolate chip cookie, chocolate croissant, and one of the chocolate cupcakes. I’m not going to lie but they were all so so yummy! At the same time, if there is only one treat you can buy, get the CUPCAKE! But, if you are not a fan of cupcakes, get the cookie. To me, the chocolate croissant was like any other chocolate croissant. I didn’t feel like the one they sell was anything special, but that could just be me…lol

Oh, before I forget, they also do have food trucks and even lawn games. You can definitely sit back and relax because there is a huge lawn.

THE WACO SUSPENSION BRIDGE

Another thing you want to go by is the Waco Suspension Bridge. It is free and pedestrian-only bridge, so you do not need to worry about cars honking. I guess you would have to worry about bicycles, strollers, and scooters though…lol Fun fact, this bridge is the oldest suspension bridge that is still standing in Texas…how cool is that, right?

Have you been to Waco, TX before? Is there something fun you did that you think I should check out the next time I go? Let me know!

-XOXO-
