Happy Wednesday Y’all!!!
This past weekend, we celebrated Mia’s FIRST birthday with friends and families. It truly was amazing to get everyone to come out to celebrate our baby girl!
The weather was definitely not in our favor! It literally started pouring like no other so of course some couldn’t come out and others came late. But it was great to celebrate Mia with everyone that was able to come out!
We initially started the party with two appetizers, one veggie and one non-veggie appetizers. This was a great idea since everyone was coming at different timings. Also, we did have alcohol so you can never go wrong with that!😜
Once majority of the guests came, we started the programs. The programs were unexpected but we truly appreciate our friends who sang their hearts out!!! You can never go wrong with listening to live music by great performers. For them, we are truly grateful for, especially to sing without even being prepared!!! After that we did the cake cutting and sang “Happy Birthday” to Mia.
One of my uncles then did a prayer and lunch was served. Whiles guests were mingling, eating, and drinking away, two of my friends and I started passing out the cake.
We did have a dj to take care of music and sound and he was amazing as always!!! Mia was even dancing away!!! Who knew the girl got moves🙃 She will definitely be keeping me on my toes as she gets older…lol😬
Overall, everyone had a great time and it was amazing to celebrate my baby girl turning ONE with our dear ones!!!
For those who were asking, our guest count was about 120 guests and that is why we rented out a place. This way, we can do one big party instead of two different parties.
I wouldn’t say it is a cultural thing to have a big first birthday party. This is because it depends on the parents on what they want to do. I knew I wanted to invite everyone that was at our baby shower for Mia’s first birthday. The hubby was on board (don’t think he really had a choice though…lol😂), so we threw a first birthday party with 120 loved ones!!!
