Mia’s First Fever!!!
About three weeks ago, my in-laws were having a Christmas carol at their house and wanted Mia to be there too. I told the hubby we should pass on this because there is definitely a chance that Mia could get sick since it is the “flu” season. Of course the hubby being the hubby was like don’t worry Mia won’t get sick and we went for the carol. This was on a Saturday and that Tuesday, Mia started having a
runny nose. By the time it was Friday, our baby girl had a 102 fever.
The “old Liz” would so look at her hubby and be like I told you this was going to happen but “mom Liz” was all about lets get her baby girl back to normal. Honestly, I think the only reason I did not freak out was because Mia was acting like her usual self.
All we did was put a wash cloth on her forehead through out the day and also did steaming. By the next day, the fever broke and this mama was super happy. We continued the steaming for another whole week since she had congestion and a stuffy nose. At one point we also started using the nasal drops because she was having a hard time sleeping.
Some of y’all asked why I didn’t give her any medicine when she was having her fever. The only reason I didn’t go with that route was because her fever broke the following day. Once again, hands down, if she wasn’t acting like her normal self, I am 100% sure I would have acted differently. Every time I looked at her, she was smiling away like almost telling me, “Mama, I’m okay and we will be fine!!!”
By the way, a part of me wanted to hurt my husband during this time but her smile made me feel all better so yaaa…he got lucky…lol :p
