This week I had my three-hour glucose test since I failed my one-hour glucose test. A lot of you asked how does the three-hour test work so let’s talk about it!
For beginners, you are fasting and my doctor told me not to eat anything after midnight. I did the same for the one-hour test but this time I decided not to eat anything after 10pm.
I scheduled my appointment for 8:30 in the morning because I knew I would want food…lol😜 When I got there, they drew my blood first. After that, I drank the sugar drink and you need to finish it in less than five minutes. Once I finished drinking it, I was told to sit in the waiting room and the nurse would call me each hour to draw more blood. I think at one point I was ready to pass out but I made it out alive…hehehe😇
In total, my blood was drawn four times. First, when you get there. Then, after each hour from when you finished the drink.
Keep in mind, for the one-hour test, you literally just drink the sugar drink and the nurse draws your blood an hour later.
