OMGGG Y’ALL!!!
Well, if you follow lizseveryday on Instagram, you know that we are having a BOY!!! That is right, this mama is 2 and O for the guessing game…hehehe!!!😇 I mean I knew there was that one percent chance that it could be a girl because hubby seriously thought it was going to be a girl!!! But when he kicked the football and I saw the blue powder I was like, I TOLD YOU!!!
Honestly this pregnancy has been kicking my but and has been 360 compared to the first time. I mean I even failed my sugar test and had to do the three-hour one. Hence, it was safe for me to say, this has to be a boy…lol!!! I feel like I convinced everyone around me it was going to be a boy besides my man…hehehe 😜
First off, if you are someone who has congratulated us, I just want to say, “THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!” It truly means the world that you take the time to read this and let lizseveryday be part of your life!!! Okay, now, let’s get started!!!
This past Saturday (June 20, 2020), we went to one of our friend’s house to do the gender reveal. Basically, I ordered the football and powder early since I really didn’t know when I was going to do everything. Therefore, once I knew the park was a no go, I decided to ask one of our friends if we could do it in their backyard. They graciously said, “yes,” and I started getting excited. In this friends group there are only five couples so in total there are ten people.
I would say with COVID-19 going on, we all only started hanging out again during Memorial weekend and everyone takes their precautions very seriously. Therefore, since we were doing the gender reveal at one of the couple’s house, we decided to invite the other four couples too.
One of the girls made a buffalo chicken dip and another one made wings. I made jalapeno poppers and bbq meatballs. Basically, we were munching on these until everyone came. By the way, it was raining like crazy earlier that day. Therefore, as soon as everyone got there, we decided to the gender reveal.
Random info, the couple was power washing their fence the week before so they actually wrote “BOY OR GIRL” on the fence. Hence, we decided we would use that as our background and it turned out great…hehehe!!! For this gender reveal, I decided to do a football since we did baseball for Mia.
I picked football this time because I was a girl who hated football and my man loved football. If he wasn’t playing baseball on Sundays, he was watching football all day and all night. That is right my friends, he would watch the Texans play at noon and then watch every other game the rest of the day. Therefore, I told this man that he needs to teach me football or this relationship would not work…lol🙃 After two weeks, I basically understood the game and the rest is history!!! If you see me today, you would never imagine there was a time that I hated football because now I’m a hardcore fan of the HOUSTON TEXANS…hehehe😊
In 2014, we threw our first Super Bowl Party since we didn’t have a party for our engagement in 2013. Ever since that year, we have been hosting a Super Bowl Party for our friends except the year I was preggo with Mia. This is because we go all out and I was determined now to give birth too early…lol 😇 But ya, so basically it only made sense to do a football themed gender reveal this time…hehehe 😊 Okay, now back to the gender reveal…
Everyone started counting down from ten. I’m telling you those ten seconds always feel sooo long…lol😜 Then, I heard “one” and hubby kicked the football and there was BLUE everywhere!!! I want to add that man of mine literally kicked that ball like no other because that BLUE powder was all over Mia and I. I obviously noticed it was all over Mia’s head and moved away but had no idea how much was on me until later…lol🙃
I would say from Mia’s perspective, she knew something was going on but didn’t know exactly what was happening. I held her so that way she could be part of it all!!! She was doing great and as soon as the BLUE powder was everywhere, she was holding on to me tight…it was super cute…hehehe!!!
I’m telling y’all, “mom gut” is no joke!!! I just knew we were going to have a boy this time and I just couldn’t believe that I was right again!!! I have to say again it truly was a special moment. Things may have not happened the way I initially imagined it but it still was such a special moment!!! We didn’t get to spend the moment with everyone but we still got to share the moment with some awesome friends that have literally become our family!!!
Once I realized how much blue was on me, I decided we three should definitely take a shower. Hubby gave Mia a shower and then he took a quick one. Finally, I took one and all the blue came off of me except from my hand and face. One friend suggested using oil but that didn’t work. Another one said to use face wash and that didn’t work either. Finally, one said to use makeup remover and that did the trick…lol!!!
For dinner, I made my “famous” lasagna for everyone. We also did cut a cake at the end because it’s all about ending on a sweet note…hehehe!!!
Ahhh…a part of me still can’t believe I’m about to be a BOY MOM too!!!
