Mia is OFFICIALLY potty trained!!!

Hello, hello, hellooo!!!

Y’all, our little Miss. Mia is POTTY TRAINED!!! Woot, woot!!! Feel free to do your happy dance right now because I’m telling you, I’m doing it right now…hehehe 😍

It took eight weeks for our kid to tell us she wants to potty. I’m not going to lie but it is definitely one of the best feelings ever!!! I feel like she has graduated from me taking her to the bathroom every hour to finally waiting for that moment, when she says, “Mama, pee pee” with a BIG smile on her face. It truly was the best feeling ever hearing those words from her!!! You better believe I made a BIG deal about it…hehehe 😜

Two of the most frequent questions about potty training that I get are answered below. One, Mia is still in diapers during nap time and bedtime. I don’t plan to change that until she understands that she cannot pee or poop on her bed. There are some mamas who have told me that if her diaper is dry during nap time or bedtime, then, she doesn’t need a diaper. For now, that is not the case so I’m not planning to take any chances any time soon in that department.

The second question is basically “do I have any tips in starting the potty training process?” The answer to this question would be make sure your kid is actually ready to use a potty. If he or she shows interest to use the potty go right ahead! At the same time, don’t force them because then, they may never do it. Also, depending if you have your parents, in-laws, and mainly your husband living with you, you want to make sure all parties are on the SAME PAGE!!!

I promise you, if you all are not on the same page, potty training will be miserable for you and your kid. Hands down, my husband was not on the same page as me initially. He would let her pee where ever, since he assumed she would tell him when she wanted to pee. She had her accidents and I would make a BIG deal about it so she knows that she needs to use the potty. I also, made my husband clean the accidents since he was in charge. After three or four cleanups, he was finally on board and here we are after eight weeks with our potty-trained cutie!!!

If you any questions on how we started the process, you can check out the April 29th blog post about potty training Mia. It has all the details of how I initially started the process. If you are someone potty training your child as you read this, just remember, YOU GOT THIS!!! 😇
